日本东北大学教授,日本工程院院士。在环境促进开裂时域分析、应力腐蚀扩展的理论模型以及寿命预测、材料性能退化管理方面做出了开创性的成果,尤其是在轻水型核电站材料环境促进开裂特别是应力腐蚀破裂方面的卓越研究工作赢得了国际同行的高度评价,发表学术论文500多篇,主编/参编著作9本,获准专利8项。
