SHI Wei

Associate Professor

Dr. Wei Shi is an associate professor at the Institute for Disaster Management and Reconstruction, Sichuan University, China. She is one of the major collaborators in the Global and Community Mental Health Research Group and the International Institute of Spatial Lifecourse Health. Her research interests include disaster & mental health development, trauma exposure & mental health, and psychotherapy & counseling. In recent years, she has taken the lead on some research projects at the national, provincial, and university levels. Notably, she has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact journals, such as The Lancet Psychiatry and The Lancet Regional Health—Western Pacific.

Cultivation of talents

Presently, Dr. Wei Shi is teacher and mentor of the Innovation Class at the Institute for Disaster Management and Reconstruction, Sichuan University, where she teaches the postgraduate courses, “Disaster Psychology”, “Frontiers of Safety Science and Disaster Reduction” and “Introduction to Comprehensive Disaster Science,” as well as the undergraduate course, “Disaster Education and Disaster Response Capabilities.”.
