On May 12,2022, the 14th anniversary of the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake and the National Disaster Reduction Day, IDMR “5.12” High-level Scientific Symposium on Sustainable Development was successfully held at Wangjiang campus of Sichuan University. Sichuan University President Li Yanrong, Vice President Yao Leye, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhang Wei, Hong Kong Polytechnic University President Teng Jinguang, and Hong Kong Jockey Club Executive Director Raymond Tam Chi-yuen attended the symposium. More than 80 experts and scholars from Sichuan University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Fudan University, Beijing Normal University and other domestic and international universities and scientific research institutions participated in the symposium in person or online. It was also livestreamed and attracted more than 3000 views worldwide.
