From November 30th to December 3rd, 2018, a Summit for International Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine for Developing Countries (ISPRMDC2018) took place in Nanjing, China. It brought together well-known experts of ISPRM from China and other countries who presented cross-cutting research on neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, pediatric rehabilitation and cardiovascular rehabilitation. Among the experts was Prof.Jan D. Reinhardt, Director of Disaster Health Sciences, IDMR - Sichuan University and IDMR postdoctoral fellow Dr. Joseph K. Balikuddembe.
Prof. Reinhardt chaired a session and delivered a presentation on the implementation of assessments of function based on the WHO’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in Stroke rehabilitation. He also presented a case scenario with interactive exercises involving the audience.
Apart from academic and research exchange, ISPRM DC 2018 was also another opportunity for the two IDMR researchers to network and discuss with exhibiting companies specialized in rehabilitation technology about possibilities of future collaboration.
